Physics and Physics Education have an important role to play in today’s society, which to a large extent is based on technological developments derived from discoveries in science, many in physics. Science in general and physics in particular are basic elements in our culture. An increasing effort has been devoted to improving awareness in the general public, and especially among young people in schools, of the importance of natural science in everyday life.

The Physics Education division has the ambition to contribute to strengthening the perception of the physics discipline in society, contribute to bridging the gap between school teachers and teachers and scientists at the universities and to support and strengthen physics teachers to maintain and improve the quality of physics teaching.
